authentic intimate moments in life

About

I was born in 1969 in Denver City, Texas, USA, and am an emerging Contemporary Figurative artist currently based in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, USA. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, I am best known for my ability to capture scenes of human emotion through contemporary compositions, often reflecting profound and intimate moments. As an artist, I find deep inspiration in the stories of the people I encounter. Each narrative I listen to resonates within me, igniting a desire to understand and express the intricate tapestry of human emotions. Through my work, I aim to create a space where these stories can unfold, and where the rawness of our shared experiences can be explored. My work is collected internationally and is exhibited in shows around the world. My most recent series delve into authentic intimacy and the exploration of the most private moments of the human experience and create pieces that are not only visually striking but deeply personal and intimate.

As a contemporary figurative artist, I explore themes of intimacy and vulnerability. My work is inspired by the stories of the people I meet, each narrative igniting a desire to capture the complexity of human emotions. I aim to create art that invites viewers into the rawness of our shared experiences. I often work with the nude human form, seeing it as a powerful symbol of authenticity and connection. By stripping away external layers, I reveal the essence of my subjects—the joys, fears, and complexities that define our humanity. My most recent series, “God needs the Devil” is still in process. It is my reflection on aging as a woman and how women of a certain age disappear, not in the literal sense, but more in the figurative sense. My most recent completed series, “Tell Me How…,” reflects on women’s rights in the U.S., encouraging each viewer to consider their personal beliefs and the importance of documenting our evolving history. Through my art, I hope to spark conversations about intimacy and our need for genuine connection. Ultimately, I seek to celebrate the beauty of the human experience, reminding us of our shared vulnerabilities and the strength found in togetherness.

About Art
  • I tell stories through my art. I want my art to engage the viewer in a quiet conversation about how they feel and what they think. I never want my art to scream or shout, but rather be the quiet and reflecting presence in the room. These are moments of intimacy, reflection and sometimes a reckoning and I want the viewer to experience the conversation, not just walk away.
