My life revolves around Painting, if I am not working on my own paintings, then I am teaching painting to beginners or I am working on my commissions. I am completely obsessed with Painting!
Light is a constant inquiry within my work, the materiality of Paint and the abstract structure and surface of a painting are the most important things to me. I approach the canvas as a place of experimentation and learning, intentionally breaking down information in order to explore thoughts, feelings and memories, I have no pre-determined outcome in mind. New forms and structures are randomly revealed n response to the immediacy of light.
About Art
- My paintings are made using Oil and Acrylic paint mixed with sand and metallic pigment, this gives the surface a way of playing with the light in the room. Also other materials such as velvet and felt have a way of defusing light, and the gold leaf and silver foil capture the light.
